Vauxhall Insignia car review – big company car, small company car tax bill

The engineers have gone to town on the new Insignia. Rock bottom company car tax, 76.3mpg, and all this in a much more up-market package.

Vauxhall Insignia review profile
If you thought you had to downsize to cut your company car costs, think again

Business Car Manager road test verdict

The Insignia has always been a notch above the Passat and Mondeo in the poshness stakes. And the new Vauxhall Insignia elevates it further.

From under £50 a month in company car tax, you will be driving a spacious, good looking and well specified large company car.

The cleaning up of the interior centre console with better quality plastics on the dashboard helps, as does the general confidence of the cabin space which wraps comfortingly around both driver and front seat passenger.

But the real clincher is the killer combo of lower CO2 emissions and reduced P11D prices: it snaps your wallet shut away from the Chancellor’s greedy tax fingers.

And do you know what?

From under £50 a month in company car tax, you will be driving a spacious, good looking and well specified large company car for your business miles.

You could of course choose a 2.0 Golf GTD (smaller, and costlier on tax); or a BMW 1 Series (same issues as the Golf). But you won’t get the big car low tax experience of the new Vauxhall Insignia.

Downsizing? Who mentioned that to the Vauxhall engineers? With the new Vauxhall Insignia you really don’t have to.
