Vauxhall has opened orders for the Grandland Griffin, replacing the entry-level Design trim on electric and hybrid models.
Griffin adds to the Design specification, upgrading the 19-inch alloy wheels to black (or 20-inch diamond-cut wheels on the electric version), with a black roof and tinted rear windows.
The Griffin retains the Grandland’s 3D Vizor and illuminated rear Vauxhall nameplate.
Inside, the Griffin offers heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
The driver’s seat is also certified by AGR1 and features 10-way adjustment, including pneumatic lumbar control and powered cushion angle adjustment.
Griffin trim retains driver assist features such as adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keep assist, front and rear parking sensors, rear-view camera and Intelli-LED headlights and taillights.
On the interior, Griffin is equipped with a multimedia infotainment system featuring a 10-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth and wireless Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™, and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster.
The Grandland Electric features a 73kWh (net) battery, a 213hp motor with 345Nm of torque, and energy-saving features such as a standard-fit heat pump, enabling a range of up to 322 miles (WLTP) on a single charge.
Vauxhall said the trim also supports rapid charging, allowing an 80% charge in around 30 minutes with a 160kW DC rapid charging.
A 48V hybrid is also available, which combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged three-cylinder petrol engine with a 28PS electric motor to deliver a combined 145PS and the ability to drive on electric power alone over 50% of the time in urban environments.
Paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, it is capable of up to 51.4mpg (WLTP), emits 123g/km of CO2, and reaches 0-62mph in 10.2 seconds.
With all Vauxhall electric cars, the Grandland Electric is available with the ‘Electric All In’ package to make the transition to electric easier, with access to various charging solutions.
With the Electric All In offer, retail customers can get eight years of comprehensive roadside assistance, including emergency charging assistance, 10,000 miles’ worth of free home charging when switching to the Intelligent Octopus GO home energy tariff, and unlimited access to connected services via Vauxhall Connect Plus.
The package also provides £500 credit towards either an Ohme Pro model, installed by Octopus Energy, Kerbo Charge cross-pavement channel installation, Octopus Electroverse charging credit, Connected Kerb charging credit, or Tesco charging credit.
The Grandland Griffin prices start from £31,480 OTR for the hybrid, saving £5,135 compared to the outgoing Design trim.
Prices for Grandland Electric Griffin start from £34,495 OTR (after ECG), representing a £960 saving over Design.
