Vauxhall has revised the Astra and Astra Sports Tourer, adding new Intelli-Seats, the Vauxhall Vizor front end and a longer range for the electric vehicle (EV) variant.

The Astra Electric receives a new battery, with a 58kWh capacity, allowing for a range of 282 miles, up by 22 from the previous model.

Vauxhall has added the Vizor design language to the Astra’s front end, along with a permanently illuminated Griffin logo.

Powertrains options include plug-in hybrid, petrol, 48V hybrid and an EV.

Intelli-Lux HD lighting, first offered on the Grandland, is now available on the Astra, reducing glare and the risk of dazzling drivers.

Vauxhall said the Intelli-Seats, now standard across the range, have a recessed channel on the middle of the bases, reducing pressure on the tailbone.

Seat covers are made from ReNewKnit, a 100% recycled material.

Vauxhall Astra EV models also have vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities for the first time.

Steve Catlin, managing director at Vauxhall, said: “Our new Vauxhall Astra is sharper, more modern and more sustainable than ever.

“With new design and technology highlights such as the illuminated logo in the further developed brand face or the innovative Intelli-Lux HD light, we are taking our compact class bestseller to the next level.

“The new Astra will inspire customers and continue the decades of success of our compact class.”

Additional alloy wheel designs and two extra colours have joined the range.

The updated Astra will be shown for the first time in Brussels in early 2026.
