Vertu has added a Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS) Rent-A-Car operation to its Leeds dealership, catering for the rising demand for rental solutions in the UK.
In addition to Leeds, Vertu runs Rent-A-Car operations at Vertu Volkswagen Huddersfield and Vertu Nottingham South.
Claire Jones (pictured, right), who has 30 years of experience in the rental industry, has been appointed to run the site. Jones previously worked as a multi-site location manager for another rental company, overseeing city-centre branches, airport locations and flagship sites in London.
Jones said: “I’ve spent my career focused on delivering exceptional customer service and building strong teams, but have never experienced working in a main dealership in the past.
“Bringing VWFS Rent-A-Car to Leeds is an exciting opportunity to combine my experience with a brand that customers trust in a new environment in one of the biggest cities in the UK.
“We’re ready to make renting a Volkswagen simple, convenient, and enjoyable for the people of Leeds and the wider area.”
Vertu said the growth in the rental market was driven by demand for flexibility, as well as for hybrid and electric vehicles.
Robert Forrester, chief executive at Vertu Motors plc, added: “Claire brings a wealth of experience and leadership to this new venture.
“The rental market is evolving rapidly, and our partnership with VWFS allows us to meet that demand head-on.
“Leeds is a key location for us, and this launch reflects our commitment to offering customers more choice and modern mobility solutions.”
