Automotive retailer Vertu Motors, has opened its second dealership for electric vehicle (EV) brand BYD, selecting Gloucester as the location for the new site.
The launch marks a significant step in Vertu’s expansion of its EV offering and BYD’s accelerating growth across the UK market.
The Vertu Gloucester BYD dealership is headed by general manager Robert Grant (pictured), whose leadership team has previously received recognition for excellence in performance and customer service.
The site includes a showroom, a modern service reception, and workshop facilities supported by BYD-trained technicians.
The opening of the dealership will create five new jobs in the Gloucester area.
The dealership will showcase BYD’s growing range of electric vehicles, including the Atto 3, Dolphin, and Seal models, as well as the newly launched Sealion 7.
The showroom also features a robotic assistant, designed to welcome customers, distribute bottled water, and deliver digital vehicle introductions and video demonstrations.
The robot can also entertain visitors with interactive features including music and dancing.
Grant said: “Bringing the BYD brand to Gloucester is a thrilling opportunity for us. Our customers will now have access to some of the most advanced electric vehicles available.
“Our new BYD showroom will allow customers a thorough, comprehensive and seamless experience.

Since its UK launch, BYD’s 2024 sales have increased six-fold.
The expansion into Gloucester reflects growing demand for electric vehicles and the rising prominence of BYD in the UK automotive sector.
