Volvo has launched the EX60, its midsize electric SUV, with a range of up to 503 miles and 400kW fast charging capabilities.
The EX60 can add 211 miles of range in 10 minutes using a 400kW charger.
Three powertrains will be offered, starting with the P6 Electric, which is rear wheel drive and offers 385 miles of range.
The P10 AWD Electric adds a front-mounted electric motor for all wheel drive, and has 410 miles of range.
Range-topping P12 AWD Electric models offer the longest range, at 503 miles.
The EX60 is intended to rival BMW’s iX3, which has a range of 500 miles, as well as the Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Technology, with its range of 443 miles.
The EX60 is the first Volvo to receive a number of technologies, including the multi-adaptive safety belt, cell-to-body battery technology for increased power density, and mega casting for increased production efficiency.
Volvo said the EX60 matches the carbon footprint of the smaller EX30, which has the lowest carbon footprint of any electric Volvo.
All models will receive a 10-year battery warranty, while Swedish customers will receive three years of free home charging.
Volvo said that this offer will be rolled out in other markets, but has not confirmed if it will be available in the UK.
Optional equipment includes a 28-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, including headrest speakers in four seats.
The EX60 will feature Google’s artificial intelligence (AI) assistant, Gemini.
Håkan Samuelsson, CEO at Volvo Cars, said: “The new, all-electric EX60 changes the game in terms of range, charging and price and represents a new beginning for Volvo Cars and our customers.
“With this car, we remove all remaining obstacles for going electric.
“This fantastic new car is also a testament of what we are capable of at Volvo Cars, with an all-new product architecture introducing new key technologies – mega casting, cell-to-body and core computing.”

Production will begin in Spring 2026.
Volvo will also offer a Cross Country variant of the EX60, with skid plates, wheel arch cladding, different wheels and a ride height raised by 20mm.
Initially, only the P10 AWD Electric with a range of 397 miles, will be offered in Cross Country form, but it will later be joined by the P12 AWD Electric.
Air suspension allows the EX60 Cross Country to raise its ride height by an additional 20mm.
