VW Commercial Vehicles opens orders for Transporter eHybrid

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has opened UK order books for the Transporter eHybrid, the first time the vehicle will be offered as a plug-in hybrid, with prices starting from £38,1551 or £439 per month on contract hire.

The eHybrid model has a 1,132kg payload and 2,300kg towing capacity on the panel van model.

The Transporter eHybrid pairs a 2.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor and 11.8kWh battery, which together deliver 232PS of combined power through CVT transmission and a pure electric range of up to 35 miles, depending on bodystyle.

The battery is recharged from zero to 100% (via a 3.7kW AC charger) in just 4.5 hours.

As well as the panel van variant, the Transporter eHybrid is also available in kombi and shuttle derivatives, with the latter emitting less than 95g/km CO2 combined WLTP CO2 (weighted).
