SIXT has appointed Yvonne Gabler as managing director of SIXT van & truck in the UK, with effect from May 2025. She succeeds David Saint, who led the UK arm of the business for nearly four years.

Gabler brings over a decade of experience in the automotive and mobility sector, including extensive work in B2B sales and commercial vehicle rental.

Originally from Germany, she has relocated to Scotland to lead the next phase of expansion for SIXT van & truck in the UK.

Dr Peter Beermann, executive vice president SIXT van & truck, said: “Yvonne has a deep understanding of our business and a proven track record of driving growth through innovation and leadership.

“Her appointment marks an exciting step forward for SIXT van & truck in the UK. I’m confident she will lead the team to even greater success, and I’m personally happy to see such a strong female leader from within our own ranks take on this important role.”

Gabler began her career at SIXT Leasing in 2012 and later moved into leadership positions within the SIXT rent a car division. In 2018 she led the Special Sales Department, managing a wide range of B2B segments.

Her recent role, assumed in January 2023, focused on building international B2B sales capabilities for the van & truck division, including telesales, area sales, and key account teams.

In her new role, Gabler aims to grow the UK operation and raise the profile of SIXT van & truck in the commercial vehicle rental sector.

She said: “SIXT is already the most innovative player in the mobility market when considering hiring a car. We want to achieve the same level of brand recognition in the UK when hiring commercial vehicles.

“The goal is to grow and scale the business and to become a very competitive player in the commercial vehicle market.”

She added: “I am super delighted about having the chance to extend my responsibilities and to grow the already existing business with the experienced and highly motivated van & truck team here in the UK.

“The whole team has the ambition to grow and is ready to prove that SIXT has built a strong product and a compelling business proposition for the UK market.”

SIXT van & truck UK is headquartered in Clydebank and offers long-term rental solutions for businesses across the country, with a fleet that includes a full range of van types, welfare units, and electric models.

The company recently partnered with Geotab to enhance its telematics capabilities.
