What’s more, come 2012, a zero emission Focus electric car will go on sale as will a hybrid. Factor in twin-clutch automatic transmissions, a new electric power-steering system and, for the first time, dynamic cornering control – a set-up that helps the driver make the most of the car’s handling – and you’ve got the makings of one of the best Ford models ever.

So get used to those looks. I promise you, it’ll be worth it.
