CLOSE Brothers has rebranded its commercial vehicle Contract Hire and Rental division as Close Brothers Vehicle Hire.

Close Brothers Vehicle Hire will continue to service customers with the extensive range of existing services from the experienced and specialist teams from its Derby head office.

Terry Ottey, Close Brothers Vehicle Hire managing director, said: “This rebrand is important as it presents an opportunity to demonstrate our customer-led, ‘service proposition’. ”

The services relate to both truck and van contract hire and rental and are further augmented with a 24-hour fleet management and maintenance programme. In addition, flexible finance packages including sale and leaseback are part of the service proposition.

Its plan to develop a wider range of specialist service provision can be seen with the launch of coach and bus rentals in early 2015.  Close Brothers Vehicle Hire now also operates a fleet of Wrightbus Streetlite midi buses in a broad range of specifications. There are also plans to further develop the global product offering and further the specialist capability within the business.

Supported by a broad range of vehicle manufacturers, the business aims to ensure that the portfolio of services meets the changing needs of its diverse customer base, with a bespoke telematics system across all vehicles further evidence of responding to market demands.

Mr Ottey added: “As part of one of the oldest and most respected merchant banks in the UK, the name equally portrays the commitment and positive association with all of our divisions and businesses.

“At Close Brothers Vehicle Hire we want to continue to improve the efficiency of our customer’s daily operations and improve access to more flexible and sustainable solutions.”
