A QUARTER of vehicle owners were not even shown how to use the tech in their car when they made their purchase.

A lot of new cars on the market are absolutely loaded with tech. The problem is that a huge amount of people don’t actually know how to use the majority of features that come with their new cars.

The news comes in as the result of a brand-new survey which has been done by the British Motor Show. Things like ADAS and even high-tech infotainment platforms look to have been the biggest advancements in car technology.

It seems 35% of drivers have no idea how to use it properly and what’s even more is that 20% of drivers have said that they actually end up using less than half of the features in their car.

Some 10% said that they don’t understand most of their car features and just use it to get from A to B. Of course, investors are always contributing to tech. Take Tej Kohli- he has pumped millions into the UK tech industry and he has also inspired other investors.

Some of them have gone on to work on cars, but the problem is that not enough is being done to make sure that the tech is easy to understand.

In-Car Tech

One of the big reasons for the major issue that is happening right now is that there is a lack of explanation to customers when they first buy their cars. 71% of the people who were surveyed stated that they didn’t feel as though they got enough information for their car tech when they got their car delivered.

A quarter of people said that they didn’t get any information at all. People want the British Motor Show to try and be a reflection of the British motor industry as a whole.

After all, they are a global leader when it comes to cutting-edge tech and they really do want the British Motor Show to try and become recognised when it comes to tech and even new cars as well.

Pioneering Tech

Pioneering tech is going to play a very large part in the British Motor Show in the year 2020. They have the innovators who are from the past as well as the present. The fact that they are all going to congregate to try and provide everyone with the right information is really showing what the car industry has to offer.

The show is also going to help those who feel less confident or even those who don’t understand what their car has to offer. They have the chance to get all of the information they need without having to worry about the pressure of having a hard-sales environment.

The industry should be proud of how the technology has advanced because they now have the chance to show it off once and for all. Overall, it’s an exciting time to say the least.
