My Electric Avenue street of the future

Share

9 July 2015

The webinar will take place on Wednesday 8th July 2015, 11.00 – 11.40am and will share early results from the trials, including:

  • EV charging and driving behaviours
  • Perceptions of EVs and controlled charging
  • The real effect of Esprit on charging
  • How a trial can boost interest in EVs, and conversion to future sales

THE My Electric Avenue project, hosted by Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution and led by EA Technology, is testing the impact of electric vehicles on the local electricity network.

The £9m project is now entering its reporting phase; the My Electric Avenue project team will be hosting their first webinar specifically for the EV charging and automotive sectors to begin sharing the findings of its research.

My Electric Avenue will be disseminating its findings over the next six months so that car manufacturers, energy companies, and other sectors can learn from the project.

My Electric Avenue is an Ofgem funded project trialling ‘Esprit’, Managed by EA Technology, and supported by partners which include Fleetdrive Electric and Zero Carbon Futures.

‘Esprit’ is a technology designed to manage and remotely control EV charging with the aim of relieving stress on electricity networks. Over 200 people have taken part in the project, in both clustered and non-clustered scenarios, driving a Nissan Leaf EV for 18 months.

Research has already revealed that the trial participants have driven their Nissan Leafs more than 2.7 million km in less than 18 months, with over half saying that they would lease or buy another EV when the trial comes to an end.
