AdBlue helps reduce exhaust emissions from diesel vehicles

In the vehicle there will be warning systems to alert the driver when the tank needs refilling, but if this warning is ignored, the vehicle will not operate as it should – it is unlikely that the vehicle will restart and if any damage occurs as a result, the cost of this will not be met under manufacturer’s warranty.

To find out if your vehicle has AdBlue technology, you need to check with the manufacturer before ordering as it is not usually possible to check via the model description. However, this is something that the team at Car4Leasing are here to help you with when you are placing your order – we can provide this information for you so that you are fully aware of what your obligations are before taking out your leased vehicle.”

Barry continued;

“AdBlue is still not commonplace across the board – in fact, it is only really BMW and Mercedes that are employing this technology in the UK across their model ranges at present – but if the trend goes the same way as DPF filters did in the past, it may well be rolled out in order to reach Euro 6 and Euro 7 compliance issues. This could, in turn, lead to an increase in failed warranty claims, where people may not have been aware or advised of these potentially problematic issues.

“For example, DPF filters typically don’t work for customers who are on low mileage, 5000 miles per annum contracts, as the high amount of short journeys being driven may not heat the engine up sufficiently to clear the filter, and could result in a blocked filter and a failed warranty claim.

“Conscientious forward thinking leasing companies like Car4Leasing will be able to give you all the information based on your vehicle usage requirements to help you find the right car for you and your business – after all, leasing online is one thing, but having a company that can provide you with guidance to avoid any future problems is quite another.”
