Jaguar has confirmed that it will put its sporty F-Pace crossover into production next year.
The new car is strongly related to the forthcoming XE saloon and its design was trailed by the well-received C-X17 concept car.
Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Director of Design, said:
“We received such an overwhelmingly positive response to the C-X17 concept car last year that we just had to make it a reality. The Jaguar F-PACE, inspired by the F-TYPE, represents a perfectly judged balance of performance, style and practicality. It offers a unique combination of Jaguar sports car inspired exterior design, fused beautifully with a thoroughly practical and spacious luxury interior. The F-PACE is our family sports car.”
Like most recent Jaguar Land Rover models, the F-Pace will benefit from the company’s heavy investments in lightweight aluminium bodywork technology. It will be manufactured at Solihull alongside the XE, and JLR will recruit 1,300 additional staff to make it.
