The worst 10 roads for snow chaos

SPARE a thought for those business car drivers and business van drivers on the M11 – it was the worst spot to be driving as snow came across the country.

The satnav and telematics provider TomTom reckons that the snow accounted for 24 different traffic jams resulting in delays of more than three hours.

The biggest blackspot was on the M11 heading from London towards Cambridgeshire, where the traffic delay was a mind-numbing and business sapping seven and a quarter hours.

While the M11 topped the list for the longest snow-induced delays, the worst hit stretch of motorway, said TomTom HD Traffic, was the M40 covering the counties of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire.

The M40 featured three times in the list of top 10 blackspots, with delays of up to seven hours at their peak.

Sections of the A1M, M42, M1 and M25 also suffered jams lasting five hours or more.
