VOLKSWAGEN Financial Services is supplying 372 new vans to leading infrastructure service provider McNicholas.

The vans, on a five-year deal, will be supplied by Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.

The new vans will help McNicholas telecommunication team’s contract to install and service high speed fibre optic broadband and digital television across the UK.

Employing over 1,700 people, McNicholas is one of the leading providers of services to the UK’s multi-utility, telecommunications, gas, power, water, renewable energy, and rail sectors. McNicholas said VW was chosen for its extensive range of vans, strong residual values and reputation for producing some of the most reliable vehicles on the road.

The agreement comprises:

  • 262 Caddy Maxi
  • 110 Transporter T26 models.

McNicholas chose the Caddy Maxi because the extended body length would help engineers transport equipment including ladders using bespoke racking within the vans as opposed to on the roof; this will reduce potential damage to the exterior as well as making the equipment easier to access and aiding fuel economy.

Each van will be supplied and supported by Citygate Volkswagen Van Centre. The vans will be fully prepared and converted to McNicholas’ spec including graphics, racking and safety beacon installa
