VOLKSWAGEN sales chief Rod McLeod’s to head Skoda UK as new director from 1 February 2018, replacing Duncan Movassaghi who assumes the position of senior vice president, sales, for Volkswagen brand in North America.
McLeod joined Volkswagen in 1996, and has worked across a variety of disciplines, including senior roles in fleet, product, and as head of marketing, where he was responsible for product specification, pricing and advertising for all models.
In his most recent role as head of sales operations, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, the brand has bucked the market trend and grown to an 8.2 per cent UK share.
Commenting on his new appointment, McLeod said: “The development of the Skoda brand over the past few years has been extremely impressive, and with the recent launches of the new Karoq and Kodiaq, it has a strong and enviable model line-up.
“I am really looking forward to working with the UK team and all dealer partners to continue the momentum.”
Volkswagen Group UK managing director Paul Willis added: “Rod’s expertise and wide-ranging experience will prove invaluable as Skoda readies itself for the next phase of its substantial growth plans.
