102 – Winter driving

Share

5 January 2009

Perhaps it was inevitable. UK plc wakes up to go back to work after the Christmas break – and it snows. Just another hazard for drivers on their way to work.

I went out early to get some bread from the local bakers – along with my daughter, Sarah, who delighted in the white stuff (pictured). A shame for her that the covering was so thin.

Mind you, it hadn’t been so easy for one of the bakers – who had to leave at four this morning to get to work. He said his drive had been difficult.

However, the real danger lies later today when everything starts to freeze. And it gets dark. A truly unhelpful situation for any driver wherever you live.

If you haven’t seen it, take a look at our winter driving advice from the Institute of Advanced Motorists. You can find it here in our Advice Centre Top Tips.
