122 – Home working helps snowbound Britain

Share

2 February 2009

It seems Phil Flaxton, chief executive of Work Wise UK , thinks along the same lines as with me about staying at home to avoid driving during the winter snow – see blog Driving in snow…best not to is the advice

He said: “With many people struggling to get into work, it makes perfect sense to allow people to work from home. Employees would not have to spend considerable time, often hours, on risky commutes, making them less tired and stressed.

“However, this is not an invitation to skive; many employers have reaped considerable rewards from the boost in productivity of people working from home.”

I would agree. Spend the time working profitably at home. And avoid all that wasted effort trying to get to and from work. And the potential for a costly car accident.
