125 – Strange morning as Citroen story unfolds

Share

6 February 2009

Goodness me, what a strangely bizarre morning.

Popped down to Hampton Pool for my early morning swim today only to be greeted by thunder and lightning. Doesn’t the weather realise the rest of the UK is under a foot of snow? What is the weather doing?

As this is an open air pool, the manager was not admitting anybody until he was sure the lightning had passed.

Which it did. Eventually. So I had my swim – during which it tipped it down with rain – and then when I was walking home, it started snowing!

When I arrived home, just to add to the surreal nature of the morning, there was an enigmatic text on my phone from Ian Hughes. Ian looks after both the marketing and fleet/business side of Citroen. It went like this:

“Citroen is reinventing itself. Please get a copy of the Daily Telegraph in the morning, and watch it unfold!”

Which of course I have done. It’s really rather fun. Although you will need some of your finest origami skills.

I just hope that the new breed of reinvented Citroen cars, bristling with creative technology, aren’t this complicated to get in, Ian… Thunder, lightning, snow and origami
