158 – Quins go top

Share

2 April 2009

Forgive this bit of self-indulgence.

But I went to see Harlequins
last night – the first floodlit match of the season at the club’s Stoop ground – and what a bonanza night it was!

Not only did we beat Worcester Warriors
60-14 – running in 10 tries – we’ve now gone top of the Guinness Premiership. Something of a landmark for Quins.

Admittedly, our play in the first half was too anxious in the rush to score tries. But the second half, when we settled down and decided to play rugby again, was brilliant.

It required a few beers to celebrate last night!

For the record, the try scorers were: Tani Fuga; Danny Care; Chris Robshaw; Jordan Turner-Hall; Ugo Monye; Mike Brown; Nick Easter 3; and Tom Williams.
