IT WAS a big night for me last night. A big night for the magazine, too.
Yesterday evening I won the Business Writer of the Year award at the annual Guild of Motoring Writers do held at the very posh RAC Club in London’s Pall Mall (one of the purple set on the Monopoly board if you recall).
It was great recognition for Business Car Manager after three years of publishing – and particularly now, at the end of what has been a very hard year (the same for most small businesses, of course).
I have to say I am both equally delighted and honoured. It is the first time this particular award – sponsored by another small business, Prova PR – has been awarded. So it’s great to win it and great to have your name first on the commemorative shield.
So why did I win it? The judges praised our free download The Big TAX Change – which has been downloaded some 6000 times – and our consistent approach to explaining the changes to the taxation of business cars which were introduced in April 2009.
Not that I will stop doing that. But I hope you’ve found what I’ve written useful.
As I was driving last night, I was a good boy and was abstemious. But I am looking forward to a celebratory glass of wine tonight!
