THE Audi R10 TDI remains unbeaten in the Le Mans 24 Hour race: in its third attempt, the diesel sportscar won the French endurance classic yet again. Making it a hat-trick of victories for the diesel-engined racer.
Dindo Capello (Italy), Tom Kristensen (Denmark) and Allan McNish (Scotland) triumphed at the wheel of the Audi R10 TDI number 2. Well done to those three. And to Audi.
Audi makes it three diesel victories at Le Mans
I’ve started driving my own diesel Audi. Not the R10, of course. But the new Audi A4 SE with the 143PS turbo diesel engine.
It is a very refined car indeed.
However, it played back-up recently to another diesel, the little SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive (see the Ibiza Ecomotive road test) on my way to the Mazda Blenheim Triathlon.
Bike and kit went in the Ibiza, family came in the Audi.
Fortunately, my first triathlon did not last 24 hours…
But more of that in my next blog.
