Audi A6 in Cornwall

Audi A6: big saloon, but even we managed to fill every space for our week’s break in Cornwall

Business Car Manager: Editor’s Blog

WE’RE in Cornwall at the moment, taking a break. Loaded up the Audi on Saturday and drove down Sunday.

Now, the Audi A6 is a big and comfortable car with a huge boot. Sure, the boot aperture prevents boxier items from being loaded, but nevertheless I can only just about reach to the far end of the boot.It really is that deep.

So, unbelievable really that we managed to stuff it so full! Still, crammed as it was, it took the Morton family in high comfort, averaging over 44mpg on the way – pretty good considering the weight it was carrying (it had that lowered suspension S Line look!). Not one peep from my teenage children about how uncomfortable they were (the middle seat also contained strapped-down luggage), which demonstrates the good legroom of the car, and its relaxing character.

That long-legged economy – relaxing motorway cruiser – is just one aspect of the Audi’s engine. The other is that useful low-down torque – the easy, low-down pulling power as you apply the throttle – which is so useful around Cornwall’s narrow and steep lanes. And finding those delightful coves, mainly empty of people where I even managed a swim (with wetsuit on it must be admitted). Fantastic.
