Audi dashboard display

Information display between rev counter and speedo

Business Car Manager: Editor’s Blog

POPPED up to see my parents on Saturday. It was my old man’s birthday on Friday and, of course, there was Mothering Sunday too.

Fortunately, the Audi has DAB radio – digital audio broadcast – so I was able to listen to Radio Five Live Extra’s broadcast of the final qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix. I got so engrossed in the final few minutes – and the sat-nav hadn’t picked up the changed road routing on the A14 – that I sailed right past the turn off. Doh!

As well as the main display, the Audi A6 also has a visual display in front of the driver, between the speedo and rev counter. The display is controlled by a steering wheel button and thumb wheel. I must admit I hadn’t used it much until this journey – an omission on my part because it’s very useful.

The journey back on Sunday was as relaxing as ever – it’s brilliantly long-legged this Audi – and managed 52.3mpg average for the 135 mile journey. A top result. It just shows how economical these big execs can be.
