I’M RATHER a fan of trams. I always try to take a tram when it’s feasible, depending on where I’m visiting.

Trams provide a very civlised way to transport people around cities. Unlike trains they can transport you right into the centre of cities; and to ride in they are far more preferable to buses – the torque is constant, rather than the on-off-on lurch of buses as the drivers try to make up time, avoid errant cars and so on.

So I was pleased to see that the Blackpool trams running along the famous Promenade are now back in business in time for Easter.
