Cyglo tyres illuminate in the dark

How to stay seen! Cyglo tyres use LEDs to light up at night

Business Car Manager: Editor’s Blog

BRILLIANT! And quite literally so. This article caught my eye in the Environmental Transport Association’s latest newsletter Apple: bicycle tyres that illuminate in the dark. What?

Absolutely. Take a look at these (left).

These tyres, called Cyglo, have LED lights embedded in the tread or wall of the tyres. So the Cyglo Tyre creates a ring of light to maximise a cyclist’s visibility on busy roads.

The LED bulbs can either flash or be permanently on, so when the wheel turns at any speed, a high visibility ring of light is formed whilst continually and perpetually creating its own power. It means cyclists can now have permanent running lights
