Black Audi A6: fulfilled role of chauffeur car over the weekend admirably

Editor’s Blog: Audi A6 becomes chauffeur car

JUST as well my Audi A6 is black. It felt like the right colour over the weekend as I rapidly felt like a chauffeur for the weekend.

My daughter Sarah was playing at Leatherhead Theatre in her school production of The King and I. A big stage for a school play. But it was fully justified; the performance level was truly astonishing, and further enhanced with a little bit of help from the National Theatre, no less.

OK, I know that sounds like dad-talk, but parental pride aside, it was quite some production.

However, all this did necessitate several trips to and from the theatre, including my parents over the weekend, the Audi gliding smoothly in between, its spacious cabin allowing my ageing parents to get in and out without too much trouble.

My dad, naturally, is both harshest critic of my car and fulsome with his praise in equal measure. “It’s not got such a good ride as my Panda,” he offered on the way back from the theatre. This one took me slightly by surprise, I must admit, but the old man has a point.

Now the ride of Audis has always been on the harsh side, and the A6, while gliding along in hushed chauffeur mode does thump over ridges. So I take his point. However, this ride issue is something that has always affected Audis in my experience
