Mercedes-Benz World has launched a dedicated driver training course for businesses.
It is designed to improve individual’s vehicle control, handling ability, and their assessment of road risks.
According to the latest statistics from the Department for Transport, 27% of all UK crashes involve somebody making a work-related journey or commute.
The Mercedes-Benz World Driving for Business Programme will use the handling circuits and wet skid circle at Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands, Surrey.
The course will provide practical experience of:
- braking at speed;
- steering control;
- cornering;
- taking evasive action behind the wheel; plus
- seminars on road safety and risk assessment.
The driving facilities at Mercedes-Benz World simulate multiple extreme road conditions including ice.
The vehicles are predominantly AMG Mercedes with between 400-500bhp. Models include the Mercedes C-Class, E-Class, SL and CL.
Mercedes-Benz World managing director, Peter O’Halloran, said: “Accident figures could be reduced by businesses with a policy to manage road risks. Measures include safety awareness, car selection and driver training.”
