The US remains Bentley’s most successful market, which is why the German-owned Crewe manufacturer chose the North American International Auto Show to showcase its flagship model alongside the Continental GT Speed Convertible and the Flying Spur.
The Americas is Bentley’s top market with a 29% share of global deliveries, accounting for 3,186 cars.
The Mulsanne Speed is tailored for driver pleasure, with 530bhp, 811 ft-lbs of torque and selectable sports suspension and steering on demand. The re-engineered powertrain, featuring Bentley’s mighty 6¾-litre twin-turbo V8, provides a 0-to-60 mph sprint in 4.8 seconds and on to a top speed of 190 mph. The eco-conscious will note the extra performance is matched by improved efficiency – a 13% gain means a range extended by 50 miles.
