Neat: Updated cabin includes latest Touchscreen technology for infotainment

Business Car Manager Road Test Verdict

The Peugeot 208 looks better than before and has a genuinely upmarket cabin. Equipment levels are good too – the one-below-top-spec Allure-trimmed car we drove had the Touchscreen, which incorporates Bluetooth and audio streaming, as well as satnav, daytime running lights, sports seats, leather steering wheel and dual-zone climate control.

That’s not a bad haul when you consider the company car tax is just 13%, although it will step up a peg over successive tax years.

But the driving experience is a mixed bag. It feels like an updated 207 on the road – Ford and VW rivals are far more convincing on any company car comparison. On the plus side the diesels and the three-cylinder petrol are economical but the fact that the 208 already feels behind its competitors should be a worry for Peugeot.
