Performance and Handling
As previously stated there are multiple engine options for the Giulietta. On the petrol end of the spectrum the 1.4-litre MultiAir option provides an interesting mix of power and torque with a smooth performance and decent emissions standards.
All of the Giuliettas come with the Alfa Romeo D.N.A. technology that can sharpen the throttle response if desired and the TCT transmission offers a smooth shifting experience while driving.
There is also a new platform and suspension hardware used on the Giuliettas that promises to offer better road handling. The car absorbs bumps and ripples well making for a smooth ride while the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) helps maintain grip, steering strength, and engine responsiveness during a drive adding to the quality road handling.
The steering of the Giulietta is an electrically assisted system that provides decent resistance in Dynamic mode but can be more sensitive when left in Natural mode.
Rounding out the performance is the car’s brakes which respond well especially in Dynamic mode where there is the Pre-Fill system that detects hazardous situations where a faster brake response may be necessary.
