Audi, TT, TFSI, rear styling
Quattro four-wheel drive works very well on the new TT, giving extra grip in wet conditions

What’s hot?

  • Vertical LED indents in headlamps ape Le Mans car styling, while other visuals cue the R8 supercar – looks the biz
  • Optional 20 inch rims are hardcore, matching Audi’s claim that this is now a focused sports car
  • The real revolution is still inside, with a beautifully crafted interior and very clever ‘virtual cockpit’ tech, replacing dials with a customisable 12.3 inch screen
  • Optional Bang and Olufsen sound system is awesome and worth the extra
  • Quattro four wheel drive is a very clever system and adds considerably to the talent of the car, especially in low grip and wet conditions
  • Feels fast enough, while the auto transmission switches immediately to paddle shifts if the mood takes you
Audi, TT, instruments, Sat-Nav
Fantastic Sat-Nav system offered on the new Audi TT, but it should really be standard rather than an expensive option

What’s not

  • Ride on the optional 20 inch rims which look great by the way is too harsh for the UK, and also increase VED and petrol consumption
  • Tyre noise is terrible on the wrong surface
  • Electrically assisted steering is slightly vague
  • We managed 26 mpg in mixed, cautious wet weather driving versus a claimed 44.1
  • Boomy induction noises from the four cylinder engine not to everyone’s taste
  • The sat nav is a £1,700 option even on this higher spec model, which is a mistake by Audi
