Although Jaguar might have no SUV history before the F-Pace, you would never know as this car not only looks great, but is involving to drive.
The F-Pace is also impressively practical, with plenty of rear legroom and bootspace.
On top of the more capable underpinnings, the F-Pace is now available with different versions of Jaguar Land Rover’s excellent ‘Ingenium’ diesel engines.

- Jaguar XF 2.0d R-Sport 180PS AWD Auto
- Jaguar F-Pace 2.0 R-Sport 180PS AWD Auto
- Audi Q7 3.0 TDI quattro S Line 218PS Tiptronic
- BMW 7 Series 730d Auto
Last year’s winner was the Jaguar XF 2.0d R-Sport 180PS Auto.
Our judges chose this 2.0-litre R-Sport 180PS Auto version, because despite the SUV stance, the F-Pace has impressive fuel efficiency (54.3mpg) with134g/km CO2 emissions.
Being the Sport trim, SME directors won’t go without kit-wise either, as this F-Pace includes a unique front air-dam, body colour trim, sports seats and interior R-Sport trim features.
As well as the impressive CO2 and fuel consumption figures, this F-Pace 2.0d R-Sport auto has all the performance you’d expect of a Jaguar.
Acceleration from 0-62mph takes just 8.2 seconds and the top speed is 129mph.
What our judges thought:
“The F-Pace represents a qualitative, desirable, stylish and versatile option in this category with relatively low BIK and whole life costs (WLC).
Jaguar F-Pace 2.0D R-Sport 180PS AWD Auto
- CO2: 134g/km
- Fuel consumption: 54.3mpg
- Acceleration: 8.2 seconds
- Maximum speed: 129mph
- Insurance group: 29
- P11D value: £39,395
- 2017/18 Company car tax band: 28%
- BIK: £11,031

The BMW 730’s suprisingly reasonable BIK given the P11D Value is impressive, but its overall cost pushes it behind the Q7, which is also a multipurpose vehicle.”
Key reasons why the F-Pace won
The new Jaguar F-Pace gives the SME Director presence without being ostentatious, plus the practicality and assurance of being able to drive in all conditions.
The first Jaguar SUV has a stance on the road conveying movement, style and an awareness of trends.
The space afforded by the SUV design accommodates all the family, yet is still a business car that you can use for clients.
The addition of Jaguar’s AWD system provides assurance whilst driving in all weathers and on a variety of surfaces.
