What’s not?
- Whilst there’s plenty of space in the front and rear of the 2-Series Gran Tourer, those two extra seats are really only for children. Bootspace is virtually non-existent with the seats in place too.
- Even on the SE’s 16-inch alloys, the ride on the 216d Gran Tourer is still sportily firm. Less premium rivals are a more comfortable drive.
- All the BMW styling cues are there, but like the standard 2-Series Active Tourer, it’s no beauty.
- This 216d Gran Tourer is the second cheapest model in the range, but it still costs a considerable £25, 645 and that’s without options
Verdict for the BMW 216d SE Gran Tourer
The 216d Gran Tourer may be expensive, but it could be money well-spent for business drivers. Despite its punchy performance, the 1.5-litre diesel’s performance is still capable of 68.9mpg, with 108g/km of CO2, keeping company car tax figures affordable and leasing costs competitive.
On top of this, the BMW 216d SE Gran Tourer is great to drive and feels well made.
