Toyota’s range-extending version of its popular hybrid, is its response to other more modern rivals.
Fitted with the latest lithium-ion batteries, the EV range is now up to 15 miles. The Prius is comfortable and easy to drive in EV mode, unfortunately when the 1.8-litre petrol gets involved, there’s the less refined CVT gearbox .
Still, the Prius is well-equipped. CO2 emissions are just 49 g/km and the Prius Plug-in falls into the 5% tax band.
