On a longer 250+ mile round trip with the petrol engine doing all the work, the Suzuki returned 44.8mpg which is nothing to be sniffed at. Overall, the return over the full 2,121 miles averaged out at 95.06mpg while the battery consumed an average of 2.8 miles per kWh
HMRC to tax double cab pick-ups as cars
From July, double-cab pick-ups will be considered cars as they don’t have a primarily commercial function. Professional Pick-up said the changes will be significant - a driver using a Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.0 as a company vehicle will, if taking delivery after 1 July 2024, face a company car tax bill of around £290 a month, rising to around £580 a month for a higher rate taxpayer — an increase of 340% over the existing figures.
Drivers pay the price as the number of parking fines rockets
Drivers in London were hardest hit by parking fines, the City of Westminster topped the list, with 345,245 fines issued in 2022. Followed by the London Borough of Camden (284,260 fines), and London Borough of Hackney (274,067 fines). In total, London boroughs accounted for 36.7% of the parking fines issued in 2022
