FACILITIES management specialist ECG Facilities Services (ECG) has chosen Fleet Alliance to organise the majority of its car and van fleet.

ECG is based near Glasgow and has a further six regional offices across the UK; the company provides building maintenance, refurbishment and repair services to commercial, industrial and public sectors across the UK.

It operates a fleet of 156 company cars and vans for use by water hygiene technicians and mobile service engineers throughout the country and has trusted pricing, logistical help and support from fleet management partner, Fleet Alliance.

After a thorough vehicle evaluation programme, the company started its next replacement cycle for its cars and vans, testing a number of different manufacturers and models in its search for an ideal fleet.

ECG opted for new Skoda Octavia and Superb diesel estates for company cars, based on feedback from employees who praised the cars for their performance, ergonomics, storage, carbon emissions, fuel economy, and handling.

The company is currently in the process of taking on 51 cars, with Fleet Alliance arranging vehicle collections and deliveries alongside the leasing company and its supplying dealers.

Fleet Alliance has worked closely with ECG for the last four years, and carried out a tender exercise employing a portfolio of funders, to find the most cost effective rates for all the new contract hire cars.

ECG has also replaced 61 of its 90 vans, selecting Ford Transit Connects and Custom diesel models; these vehicles have also been supplied on a contract hire basis.

Tim Muir, ECG Fleet Operations Manager, said;

“We opted for Skoda for our company cars, which were slightly more expensive from a rentals point of view, but which will be ultimately more cost effective to run over four years from a fuel cost point of view.
