MONDEO man will now get green bragging rights with Ford’s smallest and most efficient engine as an option in the company car driver’s favourite choice of wheels.

Production has now started of models equipped with Ford’s multi-award-winning 1.0-litre EcoBoost, the first 1.0-litre petrol engine in this medium sized car market, priced from £19,995.

Despite it small cubic capacity, the 1.0-litre EcoBoost puts out a healthy 125PS 1.0-and is specially calibrated for Mondeo to deliver a claimed 55.4mpg and 119g/km CO2 emissions.

For those who must have even more power, Ford has also extended engine options to include its new 210PS bi-turbo 2.0-litre TDCi diesel engine.

Roelant de Waard, vice president, marketing, sales and service, Ford of Europe, said: “With the full range of powertrains now rolling off the production line at our state-of-the-art plant in Valencia, Spain, Ford now offers the widest ever choice for Mondeo customers.

“Sophisticated technology like our segment-first Inflatable Rear Seatbelts helps make Mondeo an even more compelling choice.”
