Estates aren’t meant to be this quick

Fast, safe, and loaded with technology, Audi’s RS 4
The RS 4 is the latest in a long line of that Audi anachronism – the high performance estate car

Audi RS4 action
Politically incorrect, horribly expensive to run, oh, and great fun

The Audi RS 4 Avant offers high levels of performance and driving enjoyment mixed with the practicality of an estate body and the high levels of quality that have become Audi’s trademark.

Unmistakably a muscle car, but no hint of any vulgarity

At the heart of its appeal is the power and character of its 4.2-litre normally-aspirated V8 engine. That provides thrilling performance but is probably living on borrowed time in an era of diesels and down-sized turbocharged petrol engines – Audi has already started introducing diesel-engined performance models elsewhere in its range. Best enjoy this one while it lasts.

Pence per mile? Best not think about it. And if you worry about company car finance, look elsewhere.
