Apple CarPlay
Most major manufacturers have signed up to Apple CarPlay now, but Volvo most recently confirmed it for the next XC90 off-roader.
It allows you to use your iPhone’s messaging, music and maps functionality, controlling all of them through the car’s infotainment system.
There are a couple of third-party apps available on CarPlay – like Spotify and Stitcher internet radio – but loads more will be added in future.
