Fleet Alliance high fives Five Ferries Challenge
IF the guys at Fleet Alliance aren’t receiving yet another trophy for best workplace (see Fleet Alliance shares Best Workplaces podium with Microsoft), then they seem to be galvanized into action for charity.
And here’s another. The Five Ferries Challenge.
When do they find time for the 9 to 5? Or perhaps this is the 9 to 5 and that’s what makes it such a good place to work!
A team of seven from the business car leasing experts raised £4700 for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.

And that included MD Martin Brown, whose usual idea of a physical challenge after work is often more related to a raising a pint, rather than raising his cadence to get over another hill!
The Five Ferries Challenge involves 52 miles over four mainly uphill sections after crossing by ferry (five times) to a series of islands in and around Scotland’s North Kintyre and the Firth of Clyde. Hence the title!
The Five Ferries was originally a one man personal challenge to see if he could cycle a circular route around the west coast of Scotland, taking in as much sea and scenery as possible within one day.
“It was very physically demanding,” gasped Martin afterward. “Those uphill sections seemed to go on for ever!”
