Ford Focus ST in Sweeney remake at Goodwood
If only those old Flying Squad Cortinas handled like this! Watch out for a spectacular Sweeney chase sequence at Goodwood Festival of Speed this year with a Focus ST and Jag XFR

EXCELLENT! It’s back to Regan and Carter – and you can relive it in a modern sort of way at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year (June 29-July 1, 2012).

The Ford Focus ST and a Jaguar XFR will be running a modern take of car chase up the Goodwood Hill – and it promises to be spectacular, as this picture proves!

The Sweeney remake, starring Ray Winstone as Jack Regan and Ben Drew (aka Plan B) as George Carter, is released this September. And in a special preview, Ford is putting on a spectacular stunt chase.

Ford and the original The Sweeney were always close bedfellows. Regan and Carter were always jumping in and out of a variety of Granadas, Consuls and Cortinas as part of the Flying Squad. It doesn’t matter how many times you see the old series, it’s just great fun. And hopefully this remake will be as good.

But that’s enough from me in this business car blog. As Jack would say: “Shut it!”
