Improved heating and ventilation, better sound-proofing and optional multi-contour massage seats round out the picture as far as the interior is concerned.
Among the driving technologies offered on the new S-MAX – Pre-Collision Assist automatic braking for collision avoidance, adaptive LED headlamps, Perpendicular Parking and Active Park Assist, Blind Spot Information System, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Keeping Alert, Lane Keeping Aid and Driver Alert.
Adaptive Front Steering continually changes the ratio between the steering and road wheels according to vehicle speed. At lower speeds, the new system makes the vehicle more agile and easier to turn. At higher speeds, it enables S-MAX to react more precisely to driver input.
All-wheel drive will be offered on the S-MAX for the first time as well as familiar Ford chassis tweaks such as Torque Steer Compensation and Active Nibble Compensation.
