On top of the boosted power from the 1.4-litre engine, there’s a maximum 250Nm of torque delivering a 0-62 mph sprint time is 0.7 seconds quicker that the old car at just 6.7 seconds and a top speed gains 10mph at 140 mph while returning a claimed 48.7mpg fuel economy, a 2.5% improvement.
The new hatchback is the first of the new 2015 model year cars to reach the UK and will be followed by a Cabriolet version, available to order later this month. Both come in manual or automatic (MTA) forms.
The 2015MY range will have a new ‘standard’ colour with Campovolo Grey being replaced with Officina Red as the no-cost option colour choice.
The Abarth 595 Competizione costs £19,890 OTR (£21,190 MTA version) for the hatchback, and £21,890 OTR (£23,190 MTA version) for the Cabriolet version.
