8. Super Car Test Driver

This one can even be extended to the average Joe, because in this great country, just about anyone with a valid driver’s license can test drive a supercar.

7. Race Car Driver

While definitely not the same as super car test driver, we won’t say this role is impossible –but like any sport it requires a lot of nurturing, diligence, and will power.

Forgetting the constant competition for trophies, sponsorship, and mortal risk one assumes by pursuing this profession, this is one of the most desired automotive-related occupations because you get the prize money, the babes, the champagne, and the glory. It’s pretty kick ass.

6. Automotive Journalist

Everyone knows how to keep a journal, and if you’re reading this, you like cars. A lot. Automotive journalists get to go to exotic places, test drive exotic cars, and get paid to share their thoughts and opinions. They embrace the privilege of influence, and prophesy success and failure for the global automotive industry.

Pretty sweet deal –and they can also do it from the road, digital nomad style. An excellent job for anyone who loves cars and travel.

5. Car Designer

As in, someone who actually designs the official car designs and models that eventually become cars that improve the quality of life for people who drive them. That’s an awesome gig, you really can’t go wrong. Bonus points for being really earth-friendly.

The soul-crushing part has to deal with corporate cronies coming in and ruining some of your best ideas without any warning. However, in the end you still get to see a somewhat bastardized version of your vision become a reality.

You affect lives. It’s probably intoxicating. But then again, what do I know –I took the “automotive journalist” route. Right now I am sitting on a beach typing into my cell phone. That and I would imagine car design as more of an “ass-in-seat” kind of job. Let me know what you think in the comments.
