It may come as no surprise to company car managers to find that company car drivers take less care of their cars than drivers in their own vehicles

DRIVERS of company cars are 25% more likely to have a minor accident than drivers in their own vehicles according to a survey by the IAM (Institute of Advanced Motorists).

a serious disconnect between the driver and their level of responsibility for the vehicle they drive

63% of minor incidents such as car park scrapes involve company cars. And 17% of drivers also admitted that they were more likely to break speed limits when driving for work.

Other findings, such as driving economically and taking less care over regular vehicle checks like fluid levels and tyre pressures also point to the predictable conclusion that careless driving is more of a problem for company car drivers than drivers in their own vehicles.
