WITH Christmas growing ever closer, it’s a good time to start thinking about what gifts to buy people. Of course, we all know how difficult this can be as many gifts are returned to the shops no more than a week later – albeit secretly.
However there’s one type of person in most families that is easy to buy for: the car fanatic. Thrilled with any sort of car-related product, ranging from miniature car models to box sets of Top Gear, there are also so many different car accessories that are both cool and practical.
The Winter Ice Kit
We’re promised another ‘big-freeze’ again this winter, much like in 2010 when the whole country came to a stand-still.
Luckily we can learn from experience and stock up on any car essentials that we may need in order to keep our motors ticking over in the sub-zero temperatures. Well, that’s the theory anyway.
Ice kits (or should I say de-ice kits) are an ideal extra to have handy in your car so that you can be prepared for those frosty and icy mornings. No excuses for being late for work this year! A unique product emerging onto the market recently is the Gummi Pflege; you simply apply it to the seals and hinges on your car to prevent them from freezing over.
Tyre Snow Socks
A practical – and possibly lifesaving – addition to any car are snow socks.
Snow socks are, simply put, socks for your tyre. Contrary to them being called socks, they act more like shoes as they will provide your car with the extra grip it needs when it comes up against deadly snow and ice.
But what if it doesn’t snow, you may ask? Well, extremely generous shops may offer you some sort of deal, such as money back if there’s no snow. If not, these snow socks are always handy to have in your car boot, just in case of the odd snow flurry.
Heated Car Mug
You may be thinking “I’ll stick to my trusty old Thermos, thank you very much!” Well, you won’t be saying that when you’ve used a heated car mug.
Sure the Thermos will retain some amount of heat, but the genius thing about a heated car mug is that it plugs in directly to your cigarette lighter and keeps the contents nice and warm. Ideal for coffee, soups, tea, you name it. No longer will you get to work to find that your morning coffee has be ruined by the freezing temperatures!
