VOLVO managing director Nick Connor can rest a bit easier – he now only has his main role to look after.
Since taking up the post of managing director in May, Nick Connor has been running Volvo along with his former sales director brief.
No more.
As of today (22 October) Jon Wakefield walked through the glass doors at Volvo to take up his sales director appointment.
Jon, who was formerly the sales director at Fiat and Alfa Romeo, said: “Volvo has a strong product range which provides a great platform for future sales expansion. We have a strong dealer network and I look forward to working together with our dealers to reach new buyers.”
Selwyn Cooper and the corporate and business sales team, along with the retail sales team, will report into Jon, who in turn reports to Volvo boss Nick Connor.
Jon was appointed sales director at Fiat at the beginning of 2011, having previously worked for the Mercedes-Benz division of Inchcape and as sales director at Daimler Chrysler Retail.
Nick Connor, Volvo Cars managing director, said that the business car news of Jon’s appointment would strengthen the Volvo business, especially at a time when “we are entering an exciting time in Volvo’s product life cycle.”
The latest Volvo Cars management changes comes after the announcement that parent company had appointed a new ceo and president. Click link below to read:
