London Congestion Charging Zone area extends

Congestion Charging in London will cover a greater area from 19 February 2007.

The zone will extend from the original inner ring road out west.

However, the hours of operation will be shortened. The zone will operate Monday to Friday from 0700 to 1800. The original zone operated until 1830.

Small businesses should be aware of the changes to ensure drivers do not incur unnecessary penalties.

The cost for entering the zone remains at L8 per day if paid by midnight on the day of travel. This rises to L10 if you pay the following day.

If you operate a fleet of more than 10 business cars or business vans, a special fleet scheme is available. It costs L10 to register each vehicle.

Certain hybrid vehicles, such as the Honda Civic Hybrid and Toyota Prius, receive a 100% discount from the charge.
